When the U.S and Israeli defense ministers meet today many documents will be on the table but one will attract the greatest attention. This is the Israeli “Wish-List” that has been prepared in the wake of the Iran nuclear deal.

The Israeli government has made the moves that showed that it rejects the deal , but at the same time the list has been prepared.

Defense sources said that the understanding is that the deal is a fact and now Israel expects the U.S to bolster its capability to stop the expected growth of the Iranian military forces in the middle east. This growth is also worrying the Gulf states and especially Saudi Arabia.

The list includes additional Lockheed Martin F-35’s, KC-46A aerial refueling aircraft, Boeing V-22 Tilt rotor aircraft and some types of bunker buster bombs that so far have not been exported by the U.S

In February , the contract for the purchase of another 14 Lockheed Martin F-35 (Adir) fighters for the Israeli airforce (IAF) was signed. The IAF and the ministry of defence wanted to purchase 31 F-35 but strong opposition in the Israeli cabinet limited the number in the new 2.82 billion U.S $ deal. The new contract includes options for 17 additional F-35.

In 2010 , Israel has already signed a deal to purchase 19 F-35. The IAF wants the Boeing V-22 that has been test flown by IAF pilots and demonstrated in Israel, but as reported by Flight – contradicting voices in the Israeli cabinet have resulted in a “no decision”.

The Israeli sources said that in the “After deal” atmosphere they assess that Washington will be “more open” to supply Israel with the needed systems and that the contracts will also reflect Washington’s effort to assure Israel that it is safe.
