The world of unmanned aerial vehicles is a goldmine for the companies in the field. UAVs can be used for various military operations such as attack, intelligence, transportation and more, as well be of use in civilian fields such as agriculture, infrastructure defense, deliveries and more. With such an extensive array of possibilities combined with the fact that the UAV market is due to grow at a steady rate, it’s not surprising that many companies, from the largest ones to the smallest and most specific startup comapnies, are trying to get their piece.

UAS Vision reports that Sony Mobile Communications, a subsidiary of the global Sony company which specializes in the fields of image, sensors, communications and robotics technology, has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Japanes ZMP, which specializes in autonomous technology, in order to establish a new organization called Aerosense. This new organization will combine the advantage each company offers in order to create autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles, meaning that these vehicles could operate without an operator guiding them in real-time. The report also stated that these UAV are created mostly for intelligence purposes, as they will offer image capturing and storage via cloud technology.

The UAV world hold infinite opportunities for profit, especially as it seems the world is steadly advancing towards a more mechanical future. Combining unmanned vehicles in the battlefield is a substantial need for every army in the world since the more robots being operated, the fewer soldiers’ lives are at risk. The robots also don’t require food supplies and ammunition in the battlefield, especially robots operating in the air having longer endurance, except for returning to base for refueling and maintenance. The establishing of Aerospace is probably only one example of many to come.
