Elbit Systems 1LEXA new UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) presented by Elbit Systems at the 2015 Paris AirShow demonstrates new technology and capabilities for counter-insurgency and force protection missions as well as for civil application such as perimeter security, border and coastall surveillance, anti-terror and law-enforcement missions.

The Skylark I-LEX – a man portable, electric propelled UAS – is the new generation of the Legacy Skylark I-LE mini UAS and is already being used by the Israeli Land Forces, with many international contracts alrady received this year.

This improved UAS offers better Air Vehicle performance, a secured, encrypted communication system, enhanced safety features, an automatic tracker and motion detection, video image geo-registration which enhances target accuracy and an interface adaptable to the costumer’s language.

Using algorithms derived from the Elbit Systems’ Hermes family of larger UAS, the Skylark can be controlled by several autonomous modes, such as the fly-by-camera mode, allowing automatic tracking of fixed and moving targets.
