Fast Draw – Empty words in face of organized terror

This is the way it goes when a goverment is a captive of misconception. Don’t mess the ministers’ head with facts. They decided that the terrorist actions in Jerusalem and the West Bank are “lone acts of terror” and nothing can change that.

The murder last weekend in the West Bank, stabbing a border guard officer yesterday – even these events won’t persuade the goverment this is organized terror.

“It was a lone act of terror with no prior planning” – this mantra is a not-very-serious cover-up for a harsh reality of Hamas-directed terror, or other organizations.

These are no lone terror acts. There is always someone behind the driver hitting, behind the person throwing a molotov cocktail, the one shooting or the one stabbing.

In face of this reality all sorts of “human rights” organizations come in, trying to prove that the Israeli security forces in the West Bank are hurting the Palestinians for no reason.

Out of air-conditioned offices, with donations from countries who are no fans of Israel and helped by Palestinians photographers and talented video editors, these organizations make up a picture that shows as if the IDF soldier and the boarder guards are simply hurting them.

The reactions from the Defence Forces are completely restrained. Any other democratic country would have long ago taken much more drastic measures in face of the stones throwing, the molotov cocktails and all the other acts of terror.

But our goverment – or that which is accidently called a goverment – is taking a feeble stand. The fear of what the world might say entails supposedly sharp declarations from the prime minister and his ministers, but that’s about it.

And so terror acts are kept on being presented as acts of few. This isn’t just shoving your head in the head, it’s putting your whole body in and pouring cement on it.

It’s time to call it what it is: The Palestinian territories are having a sophisticated Intifada. The Palestinians have learned. Whoever is supposed to be running the state of Israel – has not.
