“A few minutes ago, Israel conducted an experiment focusing on a rocket propulsion system. The experiment took place at a military base in the center of Israel. The defense department has planned this experiment for some time and it was conducted as planned.”

This was the statement by the defense establishment this morning.

The aforementioned test was carried out at the Palmachim base, the usual venue for experiments involving the launch and interception of Israel’s Arrow-2 and Arrow-3 missiles.

The statement by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) did not specify whether the test was successful. The missile’s course was visible from the center of Israel to the Mediterranean.

Israel is currently developing the Arrow-3 anti-missile system. According to foreign press releases, Israel is also working on new models of its long range “Jericho” ballistic missile system.

Israel Military Industry (IMI) is tasked with developing the missile’s heavy rocket propulsion system.

It should also be noted that Russian sensors keep monitoring the activity at the Palmachim base.
