Dominator MALE UAV System

The Israeli defense contractors which manufacture unmanned air systems (UAS) are responding to the growing demand. As Israel aerospace industries (IAI) and Elbit systems are already offering these types of UAS.
Smaller designers and manufacturers are also making their respective moves. Aeronautics is offering its Dominator XP as an unmanned platform for maritime patrol.
The Israeli company will supply one system of the Dominator XP to Mexico. It will serve the law enforcement bodies of this country. Delivery is scheduled before the end of this year.
The Dominator XP was adapted to comply with the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) limitations.
The Dominator is based on the Diamond DA-42 twin engine aircraft. The Dominator UAV System is aimed at the high end of the MALE UAS market.

One Dominator XP is operated by Canadian CAE (Canadian Aviation Electronics) in Alma, Quebec. This is a manufacturer of simulation technologies operating under Project Miskam aimed at evaluating the use of UAS in civil airspace.
According to the company there is a growing demand for long endurance platforms, in particular medium altitude long endurance (MALE) systems. these are especially suited for the protection of Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) at sea and maritime natural gas and oil pumping installations.
Aeronautics believes that using a certified manned aerial platform for unmanned missions is a way to offer the market a very reliable cost effective UAS.
Dominator XP has a flight endurance of 28h and is capable of carrying a 300kg (660lb) payload. The modified aircraft can be flown to an altitude of up to 30,000ft (9,150m) and has a top speed of 190kt (351km/h).
