Egozi’s Fury

But one of them went out to the courtyard and told all the kids he fooled the preschool teacher, he will carry on fighting with the other kid. That was exactly what went on last week between the IDF chief of staff, the director of the GSS (General Security Service) and Prime Minister Netanyahu, in his role as preschool teacher.

The details are well known; the result is very poor, quite alarming, and indicative of a far greater problem than this preschool ‘tiff’. You may say that in this care, “the education system” has failed.

Russia is signaling to the world ‘we are a major power, ready to take advantage of US weakness’. Moscow is planning to fly combat aircraft along US shores and in the Gulf of Mexico. This is yet another indication of the deteriorating relations between the two powers.

Russia intends to step up its aerial reconnaissance missions over the Atlantic Ocean. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu said Wednesday: “we must maintain our military presence in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as well as in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, as part of our maneuvers.” US officials are hardly “buying” this argument.

No wonder. The US position as a power is waning. We can attest to this here in our own region, but it is yet to be felt everywhere throughout the world.

Israel must re-align itself in view of this new situation. Its major ally has grown weak and faltering.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has succeeded (for now) in stemming Knesset Members’ pilgrimage to Temple Mount. Aside from provocation, these MKs have no reason to be there. They are such big heroes, surrounded by hundreds of police officers, walking around Temple Mount and stirring things up. Classic stupidity on the part of politicians. Even if they think Jews have every right to go up the mountain, their timing proves their reasons for going up there are far from religious or nationalist. They are there for self-aggrandizement and publicity, for MKs who are mostly minor figures who do not get enough media attention. A bunch of imbeciles whose salaries we all pay.

It’s all a public affairs game. Iran is on the verge of becoming a nuclear power. But this weapon is not a threat to Israel, but rather to the countries in the Persian Gulf. For years, we have been told that an Iranian atomic bomb is about to descend upon any moment. It was very convenient for someone to deflect a great deal of attention from them to this threat, which is not aimed at us.

So what now? Iran will have military nuclear capabilities. Israel, after spending billions upon billions on its preparations to stop Iran’s nuclear program, will continue to protest. It’s all a game of public relations. You had better realize this: the government is fooling all of us.
