A rare peak into Apple’s new campus, now under construction, was recently made possible using DJI’s Phantom 2 drone, which has been fitted with a GoPro3 video camera. Apple is building its new campus right near its current global HQ in Cupertino, Santa Clara County, CA.

The building site is fenced, guarded and highly protected, so like many Apple products, it is the focus of much interest. This is the first ever bird’s-eye view of the on-site work.

The small quad-rotor drone, which is very popular among flight aficionados, is equipped with a tiny battery that enables a 30-minute flight. DJI’s Phantom 2 has its own stabilizing system, and it is also able to land and “return to sender” automatically.

The manufacturer, DJI, also features a carry-on kit which enables users to take the Phantom 2 with them and operate it in complex field conditions.

The new Apple 2.0 campus visible above in the 8-minute video is circular shaped, and is planned to have huge parks in its center. The campus, which will accommodate 24 thousand employees, will have an air ventilation system based on undisturbed flow of air in circular canals, thereby saving a huge saving in electricity. The building’s other electric will be powered by a huge array of solar panels covering the parking hangar.
