DHS not signing off on Libyans in US flight schools

The Department of Homeland Security is against the White House plan to lift the ban on Libyans attending U.S. flight schools.
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson told lawmakers that he will not sign off on an Obama administration proposal to reverse a longstanding ban on Libyan nationals studying in U.S. flight schools and an additional ban on students, studying nuclear science.
Asked by lawmakers Wednesday if he intended to go along with the plan, Johnson told the Washington Times he would not sign off on it.
This would effectively kill the administration’s plan to reverse a ban first instated in the 1980s that prevents Libyans from studying these sensitive fields in the United States.
The administration’s decision to reverse the ban was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon in August.
