  • iHLS Keeping you in the LoopThe earthquake that hit Napa, the wine capital of California, made US politicians urge the State to develop an early warning system that might give a few very precious seconds for residents to duck under desks, to run to safe protected areas or make trains slow. Such   earth quake early warning systems  are already operational in Mexico and Japan.
  •  The Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation IHH, which was behind the 2010 Marmara Gaza flotilla, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with QATAR. Doha and Ankara have been supporting the Muslim Brothers and other Islamic groups in the Middle East for years.

  • Magen David Adom has summarized 50 days of continuous medical aid all over the country: MDA paramedics treated 842 civilians, 10 heavily wounded, 6 with medium and 20 with light wounds. 581 people were treated for shell shock!, 9 people were victims of terror attacks and 159 were hurt  making their way to protected areas.
  •  Iran has supplied weapons and ammunition to Iraqi Kurdish forces – Kurdistan’s President Massoud Barazani said in a joint press conference with Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in Karbil.
  • Australian airlines Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia said passengers can use smart phones and tablets  in flights. Both airlines, in competition with each other, hope the new access to e-devices during flights will increase their appeal.
  • Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have donated one million US dollars to the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility, a gun control advocacy  group. The Alliance supports a bill which would require background checks for all gun purchases, including those made at gun shows or online weapons purchases.
