With enough space for two football fields inside, the unmanned aerial system hangar is open for business. Fox and Echo, the two Gray Eagle UAS companies within 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, will utilize the space.

The $22 million unmanned aerial system complex was built at West Fort Hood’s Robert Gray Army Airfield.

Aside from the large hangar to house the 56-foot wingspan Gray Eagles, a 14,900-square-foot administrative building and a motor pool also were funded in the budget, according to public works officials. These facilities are expected to be completed next year.
