ICTEveryone’s  on the same Network – New IDF technology network enabled during “Protective Edge” operation.

“IDF Network” Technology is implemented by the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) division, and mainly uses an unified communication network between all arms of the army – land, sea and air.

Everyone is on the same radio, data or Ethernet network, at the same time so there is much improvement in the cooperation and the inter-working of the various arms of the army (Air force, Navy etc.)

Head of planning unit, Colonel Nati Cohen, told the IDF website that the following units of the army were using the same network during infiltration attempt by sea in gaza: maritime control, special navy force, armor division, artillery and air force. Everyone could speak on that unified network and operational decisions could be made within seconds.

The “IDF Network” project was launched recently by the army chief of staff and is intended to connect all the arms of the IDF, including logistics, personnel, information systems, command and control as well as the combat array.
