International pressures are part of an “Orchestra”. Politicians blabber in order to just add a few lines to their resume. Naïve Americans also know that this time Israel must finish the job otherwise everything will erupt again soon.

Israel should declare that any kind of cease-fire is not an option at this point. And it must be said that the international pressures mentioned are not very heavy. Foreign statesmen also realize that this time Israel is fighting a murderous terrorist organization which is part of the most radical Islam spreading in their countries as well.

There are some tough omissions in connection with the fighting in Gaza that are obvious even at that stage. The known problem of attack tunnels was not handled properly. The intelligence about them was partial but even with this data, the problem was not confronted as it should have been.

But above all is the use of an obsolete armored personnel carrier (APC) in such an environment.

To enter the combat zone where there are dozens of militants with anti-armor weapons using such an obsolete APC is like entering the area with a private family car. In the past these obsolete APC’s have been reinforced with sand bags.

The IDF has better protected APC’s designated “Namer” that is built on the chassis of the Merkava tank. But their number is not sufficient and therefore forces entered the Gaza strip on the obsolete APC’s.

This is a huge omission. It would have been more logical to let them cover the distance on foot than compromising them in such a death trap.

As I have written here in the past, the number of the IDF’s dead and wounded, stems in a great part from the “Surgical” fighting imposed by the government.

Our soldiers are killed and rockets continue to fly into Israel. Gaza has become a terrorist state armed to the teeth. In these conditions the fighting mode imposed on the IDF will not give the expected results and we continue to see that every day.

It’s time for the “Landlord to get crazy” Otherwise the number of casualties and wounded in our side will continue to grow and the results will not be satisfactory.
