Egozi’s Fury

egozi's fury featureThe current criminal terror spree in Israel has been the subject of media attention for a long time now, but I still have a few words to add. What’s amazing about this issue is that no one is actually taking responsibility for it. There are plenty of cabinet ministers, plenty of positions, but it’s like they all live in a parallel universe.

There’s an Internal Security Minister, but his job seems to be releasing weak statements after every incident. The Chief of Police is too busy being angry at the media, whose attacks against him are very justified. And last there are the police officers in charge of the areas suffering from these attacks – they’re also not taking responsibility.

In a normal country somebody, somewhere along the command chain would have admitted they failed and quit their position. That’s not happening. When does the police respond? After the State Comptroller said there’s an “atmosphere of terror in the streets.” They were livid. Reality proves the State Comptroller right, though; he was even being polite.

Home Front Command representatives stated last week, during a meeting of one of the Knesset’s less important commissions, that the Home Front Defense Ministry was redundant. It’s true, but no one in our government cares. If it has positions to give to followers it justifies a budget. That’s what’s important., not our safety.

So a top officer can tell them the truth, but they don’t really care. We are the ones who should care. We try to change things once every four years, but after politicians are elected they magically forget about their voters.

There are signs of danger on Israel’s northern border. If Hezbollah reaches a boiling point the organization will retaliate, launching rockets aimed at northern Israel, perhaps targeting the entire country.

It seems that our government plans for this to become a prolonged war of attrition, with hundreds of thousands of citizens hiding in shelters for weeks. Fear of reactions from the global community triumph over keeping Israeli citizens safe.

Should Hezbollah attack, matters can be easily settled in less than a day. How? Simply let the Air Force do what it does best. The Lebanese will raise white flags at the border and beg for their lives. But that will never happen, because the government in Jerusalem is incapable of acting.

Last week the stations where citizens could get their chemical protection kits were all closed. A perfect example of how illogical this country is. Even the naive U.S. understands that Assad is lying – same as Iran – and intends to keep his chemical arsenal.

So Assad still has chemical capabilities and Israel stops manufacturing chemical protection kits. Every novice intelligence agent can verify my words, but the geniuses in the government know best. The results are disturbing.

To conclude, an issue that apparently has nothing to do with Israel – although it does. Putin must have smiled when he heard the recent American threats over the Ukraine military intervention. Russia, like the rest of the world, ignores the weak American government.

This morning U.N. Security Council representatives stated that they’re “worried about Russia’s actions.” I’m sure Putin didn’t lose a moment of sleep over it. He seems to be the only leader that is capable of acting and carrying out his decisions.

I wish some of his tenacity would appear in our leaders, they most certainly need it. Right now they’re only tenacious about keeping their jobs. It’s bad for countries like Switzerland, it’s much worse for a country like Israel.
