UAE to Spend Billions on Homeland Security

The UAE is set to double its spending on homeland security from $5.5 billion to more than $10 billion in the next 10 years, according to the annual US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration report.

The report, which was released recently, showed that the UAE spending on airport security is estimated to reach $57.7 million by 2015, with a view to increasing investment in homeland security, economic development and rapid population growth.

According to the Gulf News the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR) will take place in the capital on April 1-3 to discuss the results of the study extensively. The three-day event, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), will cover three main themes: homeland security and risk prevention, critical infrastructure security, and information security.
