The Israeli city of Ramat HaSharon decided to expand and upgrade its safe city and smart city projects, conducted in cooperation with Magal Security Systems.

In 2013 Magal supplied the municipality with an integrated solution for a safe city project, including a primary control center working around the clock, a backup control center. dozens of cameras and public wireless access points, in addition to a public announcement system and an alarm system connected to kindergartens, public buildings and central areas.

The municipality and Magal decided to upgrade the project in 2014, by laying down a network of optical fibers covering 80% of the city and installing other emergency applications. There’s a planned increase in the number of cameras, as well.
