The IDF is guarding the settlers, and they sabotage the Division Commander’s vehicle. Very impressive, damaging the car of the man who’s responsible for them being alive. The group of Jewish settlers who reached the Palestinian village of Kusra was almost massacred by the residents.

Without the IDF all these so-called heroes, who conduct “price tag” operations even against the IDF, would have been forced to flee for their lives, at best.

So how can they go on conducting these price-tag attacks, even against the IDF itself? It’s happening because the so-called authorities aren’t capable of handling it. Police, General Security Service and the judicial system, all fail again and again to handle a small group of deluded hooligans.

Colonel Yarom met with Yitzhar settlement leaders and Samaria regional council representatives at a local coffee shop, in order to discuss local security issues. His car was sabotaged in broad daylight, with the perpetrators still at large despite the immense resources of all the relevant authorities. An extremely bad joke.

Defense Ministry representatives said that the incident is “severe and intolerable, requiring a quick, professional response from all the relevant law enforcement agencies.” The IDF Spokesman said that the army “considers these attacks against military personnel, who toil day and night in order to protect Israeli citizens, very severe.”

The Yitzhar settlers committee’s response: “Despite disagreements on certain issues with the Samaria Division Commander these acts serve no purpose and are not acceptable.” Samaria Regional Council representatives added: “We frown upon any act against IDF soldiers, including the Samaria Division Commander, who arrived with the best of intentions. Local residents repaired the torn tire and apologized for the incident.” The representatives also said that the extremists who damaged the car cause more damage to the settlement than anyone else. Many of the perpetrators, according to the representatives, are not even settlers themselves.

The settlers added that there are ongoing efforts to rein in the young hooligans responsible through education and even IDF enlistment, efforts which resulted in lowering the intensity of the attacks.

So everyone is against it, saying the right things, but no one actually does anything to stop this inconceivable phenomenon: Attacks by Jewish settlers aimed at IDF soldiers, who are responsible for protecting the settlers themselves.

If this is allowed to continue it means that this country has lost its way completely. The perpetrators remain free and probably won’t see the inside of a prison cell in the future. There’s no respect for anything, no fear of the law, no order and no reason. Add all that up and realize how bad our situation is.
