Rafael and the SK Group Fully Acquire Visionmap

8031786_s featureRafael and the SK Group (NSKA Industries), owned by businessman Sami Katzav, completed a joint acquisition of Visionmap.

Visionmap was established 10 years ago by Michael Pachtanikov, Vadim Zlotnik, Pavel Radzivilovski and Benni Ifhar, and is directed by Yaron Vilan since 2007. The company developed unique technologies for 3D aerial imaging and mapping, for both civilian and military applications.

Many of the company’s 100 employees served in elite technological IDF units. The company develops, produces and markets two lines of products, one for civilian mapping and one for visual intelligence gathering. In 2009 Visionmap won the Israel Security Prize.

Visionmap’s first group of investors included top Israeli figures such as Prof. Ehud Weinstein, Dr. Ofir Shalvi, Ariel Maislus and Yariv Gilat. In 2008 Rafael acquired 24.9% of the company shares, the rest acquired jointly with the SK Group.

The company will continue operating as an independent company under the current management, in order to leverage the new owner’s capabilities and and advance company interests in Israel and abroad.
