Egozi’s Fury

egozi's fury featureThe same old cabinet ministers keep claiming there’s no intifada, one after the other. They never let the facts interfere. Rocks, Molotov cocktails and live fire, nothing can get through the wall of denial. It won’t matter in the end, there is an intifada and it’s only growing in intensity. Facts will eventually bring down this house of cards. There’s no “peace process” with the Palestinians, and there are no “isolated incidents”, this is an intifada through and through.

The U.S. Government refused to respond to recent reports, according to which the American intelligence agencies spied on e-mail addresses used by Israeli Prime Ministers Binyamin Netanyahu and Ehud Olmert, and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, in the years 2008-2009. Despite the media attention and the betrayal felt by Israelis in general, it was, after all, just for show. Everybody is spying on one another, and if word gets out there are a couple of awkward days before it’s back to business as usual. So those who demand an Israeli action against the U.S. have very short memories. Pollard did it and he’s still paying the price. Perhaps this recent incident will help get him released, he spent enough time behind bars.

World powers ignore the atrocities in Syria, committed as part of the ongoing civil war. They keep believing that Syria destroyed its chemical weapons. Assad is laughing in his palace and Russia keeps supporting him. Moscow blocked a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Syrian government over the use of barrel bombs against civilians, weapons considered to have considerable destructive power. “Barrel Bombs and the explosives inside them reflect the brutality of the Assad regime, murdering its own citizens, including women and children,” said an American U.N. Spokesman. “The Security Council should at least condemn these barbaric acts.” So there’s plenty of talk but very little real action. Assad keeps butchering his own people, while U.N. representatives enjoy another rich meal in their favorite New York restaurant after every useless discussion.

The same cabinet ministers who deny there’s an intifada joined forces over the weekend in ignoring every criticism having to do with the lack of preparedness for the recent snow storm. Without relying on facts, ministers claimed that every emergency system worked perfectly. Once again, they never let the facts interfere. The failure was massive. Those who worked out in the field did a great job, cops, fire fighters, soldiers and more, but there was a severe lack of preparedness. Nothing was done in preparation for the storm, just as nothing is done to prepare for an earthquake or a missile strike. The State Comptroller is already hard at work on his storm report, all for nothing.
