Rafi Maor – New IAI Chairman of the Board

Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon and Finance Minister Yair Lapid formally appointed Rafi Maor as the Israel Aerospace Industry Chairman of the Board of Directors. Maor was previously elected as Chairman by the board members.

After his election Maor said: “I’m honored by the privilege of becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors of IAI, the biggest defense company in Israel. Knowing IAI’s power, its workers and its directors, I’m convinced that by cooperating we will face all the massive challenges that lie ahead with innovation and originality.”

Maor, previously Chairman of ECI Telecom, joined ECI in 2004 as the COO. He was the company’s President and CEO between 2006 and 2011, when he was appointed Chairman.

Before joining ECI Telecom Maor was VP and General Manager of the HP Indigo division. Between 1995 and 2001 he was the president and COO of Indigo until it merged with HP.

Rafi Maor began his career in IAI in 1975, in a series of engineering, management and operations roles. In 1987 he was appointed as manager of a complex aircraft development program. Between 1991 and 1995 he was the director of the IAI Malat factory.

Rafi Maor is a graduate of Tel Aviv University with a BA in mechanical engineering, and of the French INSEAD school’s business management program.
