Guatemalan Police to Sign Deals with Beretta, Glock and IWI

National Police of Guatemala will sign contracts with Pietro Beretta SPA, Israel Weapon Industries Ltd. (IWI) and Glock America SA, to buy more than 17,000 weapons for over $12 million to equip the National Civil Police.
According to Fox News the Italian Pietro Beretta SPA will sell 14,000 handguns for the regular force of the PNC, in the amount of approximately $5.7 million.

Glock America SA will provide 3,000 guns for the special forces worth $6.8 million, and Israel Weapon Industries Ltd. (IWI) will provide 100 Uzi submachines worth $152,000.
According to the Prensa Libre report the deal details were hidden from the public. The final cost of the weapons, however, was much lower than the allocated acquisitions budget.
