17841399_sIsraeli sources told i-HLS that the last attack of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Israel has been a “slap in the face of the few that hoped for a new page”. The Turkish prime minister, they added said things that “were untrue and showed his uncontrolled hatred of Israel with no relation to the facts”.

The U.S. anti defamation league (ADL) has called Erdogan to “publicly retract” the “demagogic and dangerous” accusations he made on Tuesday that Israel is behind the uprising that ousted former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director wrote “If the reports of your statements are accurate, we respectfully call on you to publicly retract them.” His comments were directed at Erdogan who he says “quite vocally” supports the Muslim Brotherhood.

Turkey “still harbors a heavy bias against Jews and Israel,” ADL stressed, referring to a 2010 Mavi Marmara Gaza-bound flotilla incident which drastically affected relations between the two countries, however they have recently begun to reconcile.

Erdogan had told provincial leaders of his AK Party on Tuesday that his government had evidence Israel had a hand in events that led to the ouster of Mohammed Morsi, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, from Egypt’s presidency.

The Israeli sources say that recently some senior officials from the Israeli ministry of defense expressed hope that the defense ties with Turkey would be renewed “these words were not based on facts. When the Turkish prime minister has a blind hatred towards Israel nothing good can happen”.
