This will end in a very bad way. Time after time criminals are entering army camps and stealing weapons either from armories or the soldiers living quarters.

Last week unknown assailants broke into an IDF base in the North on Saturday morning, stealing a soldier’s rifle.

An IDF Spokesman stated that the weapon was stolen from one of the soldiers serving at the Naftali base near the Golani Junction.

Military police have opened an investigation into the incident.

This also happened in the past. As I wrote here before someone in the army has to pay for this ongoing scandal.

Army bases are not safe. Fences are “for demo only”, and the security at the gates is like ice on a hot plate – worthless.

The responsibility is on the commanders. The orders and regulations exist. The discipline is in the shape of a sketchy recommendation. This is not a way to run and army. This is a recipe for disaster . But in Israel this in many ways is the ways things are being done . Short cuts and looking aside not to address the real problems .

When an army is not capable of keeping its bases safe , time after time , this arises many questions about its capabilities to keep all of us safe.
