Rafael will unveil its controlled weapon ststions that enable the launch of its long range Spike missile.

This will happen at the Maritime Combat Systems Exhibition in Singapore

Rafael Advanced Combat Systems will present this week at the IMDEX exhibition in Singapore a variety of systems and capabilities in the fields of attack, location and control of naval systems.

For the first time Rafael will display in this exhibition several new weapon positions, from the Typhoon Weapon Positions family:

  • Integrated Weapon Position with Spike (Tamuz) NLOS missiles for range up to 25 km,
  • Integrated Weapon Position with Spike (ER) missiles range up to 8 km,
  • 30 mm Typhoon Weapon Position

About Rafael Spike Missiles family: These are precise tactical missiles with electro-optic homing head, that can be launched from land, sea and air platforms. These missiles are used by IDF and many countries in the world.

About Controlled Launch Positions:  These are stabilized and lightweight systems, that can be installed on various sea platforms. These systems are an extension of the existing variety of remotely controlled sea and land weapon positions, enabling execution of various actions without exposing the combat soldiers.

Rafael will also present at the Singapore Exhibition the following systems:

  • SPOTLIGHT N System – an advanced maritime electro-optic system for locating sources of fire.
  • TOPLIGHT HD System – an advanced HD-quality electro-optic payload system.

Singapore is an important market for the Israeli security industries. It does not disclose details about its defense deals, but several years ago there were news on purchase of early warning and intelligence airplanes from Israeli Aircraft Industries. The systems were installed on the G-550 executive aircraft like the ones serving for similar missions of Israeli Air Force.

According to foreign sources Singapore bought in the past other weapon systems from Israel, including fast boats for shores control.

Many visitors are expected at the exhibition from all over Asia and other areas of the world. This emphasizes the importance of this exhibition in times of defense market competition at its peak.
