Brazilian border security project will include Israeli electro-optic observation systems

electro-optics 2943The subsidiary of Elbit Systems in Brazil will supply electro-optic systems to Savis Tecnologia e Sistemas for the Brazilian border security program “Sisfron”. The initial contract is part of the pilot for Sisfron program, the scope of which is considerably higher.

Elbit Systems announced this week that AEL International Ltd., subsidiary of AEL Sistemas S.A, the subsidiary of Elbit Systems in Brazil, has been awarded a contract for the supply of electro-optic observation systems to Savis Tecnologia e Sistemas S.A, a wholly owned subsidiary of Embraer Defesa e Segurança S.A., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Embraer S.A. The scope of the project is not substantial for Elbit Systems.

Picture1The observation systems will be supplied within a year, starting in 2014, as part of the first phase of the Brazilian multi-year border security program, ”Sisfron”.

Elbit Systems will make additional investments in Brazil in assets, infrastructures and Optronics knowhow.
